I have been waiting for this cook book. I was hoping that it would have recipes that were on her show, Farm House Rules. It does. There is the Pumpkin Pie which I made last Thanksgiving and it is very good. Quite different than your run of the mill pumpkin pies.Also, the lamb stew is excellent. I am anxious to try other recipes.
I bought this after watching the Farmhouse TV shows. Nancy Fuller's writing is as delightful as watching her on screen. I love to cook, own many cook books, and after retiring decided to give this a try. The arrangement of recipes by season matches how we try to eat using seasonal products. The photos are beautiful and spaced with the recipes. I have found the recipes easy to follow and tasty. So far I haven't made anything that we didn't like. This cookbook makes a nice addition to my collection, and I look forward to making many more. If you are looking for a basic "how to book" this is not it but will be a good addition to any kitchen and collection.
This book is fantastic! I love Nancy’s cooking show. She always has the best recipes on her show and this book is the same! I just got the book and looking through it, I love all the recipes! Literally every recipe sounds amazing, simple to the point, and I would totally make! Lamb stew! Roast chicken. Roast prime rib. Amazing sides. Seriously.. If you love cooking, and love to host big dinners or just cooking for your family, this book is great for that! Your guests and family will be “Ooo-ing and ahh-ingâ€. She’s like the grandma everyone loves..Great recipes.
Nancy is so down to earth. I had been waiting for this cookbook for so long and I am delighted! Her show is my favorite on the Cooking Channel. Nancy has included so many recipes from her show. I think they are easy to follow. Also, love the manners section in the back of the book. Time for her to be thinking about another cookbook.
Nancy has in her book very useful recipes that us home cooks can use.She displays beautiful pictures through out the book. I really enjoyed not only the recipes but her story in the introduction. Thank you for allowing me to express my personalthoughts of this delightful recipe book
I love this book. You can actually pronounce the ingredients and for the most part I have them! It is really pretty too so I use it over the other 10-15 I have to display on my butlers pantry.
After pre-ordering this cookbook months ago it has finally arrived--and does not disappoint. From Nancy's practical kitchen tips right on through to the easy to follow index, I am completely hooked. Her delicious 'rules' are as clear and easy (and fun!) to follow as they are on her show, and the vibrant color photographs throughout are stunning. The seasonal patterned menu she has created here is delightful, and her life experiences and narratives she shares about her beloved family and food will draw you in and warm your heart--and are guaranteed to make you smile. Bravo, Nancy, and thank you for giving us a glimpse in to your amazing world!
Yes it met all my expectations, but the book was bound to the cover upside down and backwards. I'm glad I purchased it for myself and not a gift!!!
