Touching story. I used to pick the wild sweet strawberries in the wetlands near my former childhood home that is north of here in Michigan. Wonderful example of how couples who experience stress and strain of arguments can successfully work this out even though difficult times and arguments. We should have more stories passed on like this in our current culture.By the way. My hubby was so impressed at my love of these sweet little wild berries we actually found someone that sold the wild indigenous plants, and planted some.Looking forward to the berries & passing on this sweet story of relationships and redemption! :)

This is a nice story for children who are studying the Cherokee people. As a long-time teacher of literature, I am always inclined to encourage children to link what they are reading with other literature in their experience."The First Strawberries" is a lovely story of the first two people created by the Supreme Being "Yowa" from the Cherokee heritage. Not only is it a very fitting story of how these two come to cherish one another, but it is also very nice for comparison with the Biblical account of the first two people created by God. A child as young as second grade can easily make the connection. This little story embodies what makes for good children's literature: a well written story with a moral, but without a didactic approach. It allows the child to discern for himself with what he brings to the experience.

Again, one of my family's FAVORITE BOOKs. The values and life lessons taught are relatable, rather than some 'princess in a far off land, bla bla bla'.... This is a book about knowing when to stand up for yourself, when to reach out and apologize for your actions, and when to FORGIVE and move on again. Perfect book. Plus the illustrations are superb.

This is a good story about how two people who love each other can argue but later reconcile. The man acts bossy and sexist to the woman but then he is sorry and has to go a long way to apologize to her. The paintings in the book are gorgeous and they show the loving relationship of the two people as well as their hurt feelings.

Anger, forgiveness and sweet strawberries - what do they have in common? They are all elements of the wonderful Cherokee story retold by Joseph Bruchac. I love his books! This story of friendship and respect is not lost on the young nor the old who read or hear it. Anna Vojtech's illustrations are beautiful and dreamy and fit beautifully with the words. I think it is a great springboard for explaining to children the concepts of quarreling and reconciliation in relationships.

Absolutely love this book! Our family is part Cherokee and we all LOVE strawberries! When I read it the first time, it quickly became our granddaughter's favorite book!

I ordered this book sight-unseen as gifts for children in my life because other books by the author were chosen for our community reading program. The story moved me to tears. It is beautiful in the simplicity in which it touches on the expectations we place on human relationships and the beauty of reconcilliation. The illustrations are wonderful, too. I plan to give this as a gift going forward to anyone I know getting married!

Great children's book. Gentle plot and nice pictures. I used it to share with my children a story of the native Cherokee people that does not involve harder, bigger issues that my young children are not ready for.

I don't have enough stars to rate this book or this series. I've been hooked since I read the first one and with each book it just gets better and better.I was really looking forward to seeing how will Jordan find peace and happiness. That girl has been through so much and my heart was breaking each time something happened to her. That's why I loved Gabriel so much. Even when he was being an unreasnoble he still cared and loved her. She needed someone to look after her and he was just the right man for the job. I loved how he made her come out of her shell. And when the town finally came to it's senses I was crying happy tears.Janie Crouch has quickly became one of my favorite authors. Janie is a master at writing romantic suspense! This is the 4th book in the her Linear Tactical series. Each book has been great and they just keep getting better. This book is better if you read at least Shamrock before it, you'll have a better understanding of what's going on in the beginning of the book, but it can be read on its own.Gabriel (Gabe, Angel), former Navy SEAL, present CEO of multi-million dollar corporation, hates the idea that Jordan is working with his sister, Violet, in her bakery and doesn't mince words about it. I have loved Jordan's character since Book 1 of the series. She's hated by the town, ex-con, and Gabe believes he knows what she's all about. As things continue to happen to Jordan, he starts to see her as she really is. He comes to her aid and realizes how wrong he was about her. People from Jordan's past show up and everything they've built just may come crumbling down.This book is sexy and romantic with some fast-action suspense thrown in. I have to admit, my eyes leaked at least a couple of times for Jordan.(I received an ARC from author, but would have read it anyway!)

Jordan, all around helper and ex-con, butts heads with Gabriel, tech company CEO and former Navy SEAL, when he makes assumptions and nasty remarks about her working in his sister's bakery. As the story progresses the hits keep coming at Jordan, Gabriel starts to see her in a new light, and a blast from the past may just derail everything she is working towards. Janie Crouch weaves a wonderful romantic suspense tale in each of her Linear Tactical books and Angel is no different.I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

I absolutely loved Jordan and Gabriel they had such great chemistry that you could not help but root for them. This story did not disappoint I was truly enthralled in their story and could not put it down. Jordan had been dealt a crappy hand in life and she really needed someone to champion her; thankfully Gabriel her guardian angel was up for the task. Although he did fault there for a while thankfully he got himself back in gear and stood by her. I can hardly wait for the next installment with Ghost.

This book has it all! Passion, romance, excitement & danger! I laughed, cried & could not put it down! Read until 2am one night! Janie Crouch has definitely become one of my top favorite authors! Looking forward to “Ghost”. I will always check for any upcoming novels in all her series!! Way to go Janie!!!

If I wanted to pay for and read the same book I would have. But this book had the same first 19 chapters as Shamrock. So they're not stand a long books. DON'T BUY SHAMROCK JUST READ THIS BOOK AND YOU'RE CAUGHT UP.

I knew Gabriel and Jordan's story would be good, but it was even better than I thought. It tore my heart out to read about Jordan's life and all she's gone thru. Gabriel put it back together, but it took a while. This is my favorite of the series, though I loved them all. Angel was a beautiful and emotional read and I highly recommend it to all.
