About the Author
Dr. Lester Sumrall (1913–1996), world-renowned pastor and evangelist, ministered for over fifty-five years in more than 110 countries, including Soviet Siberia, Russia, Tibet, and China. He established Feed the Hungry in 1987. In addition, he wrote over 130 books. His evangelistic association, LeSEA, headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, is still actively spreading God’s Word. Dr. Sumrall’s goal was to win one million souls for the kingdom of God, and LeSEA continues to carry out this vision. The ministry includes such outreaches as the World Harvest Bible College, a teaching tape ministry, and numerous publications. Holy...next to the Bible this is one of the most powerful books I have EVER read. Revelation leaped off the page as I read it. This book is for a mature Christian when desires to grow and know! Forever grateful to the author for answering the call and penning this book - may God bless him!
I previously owned this book and gave it away to someone who lost it and I was mad. I bought this book for a co-worker. This book is a great book to give you a beginning understanding about how the gifts of the Holy Spirit operate. This book helped me identify 4 powerful spiritual gifts I had and talents below the gifts I had. This book is a teaching book to help build the foundation for one who is on a path to understanding or developing their spiritual gifts and ministry. Of course you will need more material but the best teacher when it comes to gifts is Jesus himself. This was one of those books I actually finished reading and would reference again. Buy the book if you want explanations to supernatural experiences you have been dealing with.
Great breakdown of the gifts and offices. Helpful to see where we need to be as the body and also how to seek God and understand which way he may choose to use us personally. This is really something that many churches would benefit from providing or recommending to its members to help the body grow as God intended.

I have looked for information on the gifts and found a few books, none have been so inspiring as this one. There are books with tests in them on your gifts but none tell you how to work your gifts,or explain very much. This book excited me as Lester Sumrall starts out telling how he started in ministry with Howard Carter. I can totally relate. I have many gifts and I help others discover or become aware of their gifts so they can grow and function in them. This book is a real eye opener for many people. The gifts are not used as they should be today. Many people have the wrong view, and many are fearful when the gifts start to manifest in them or in others. I bought this book for my daughter and her husband and they loved it. This book is a treasure, it is an eye opener. It can put a hunger in someone to realize there is more and then give them some insight on how to acquire it. Lester tells of the importance of staying humble and close to God. He explains the purpose of the gifts, to encourage, grow and unite the body. He is a man filled with fire and passion for God. I wish I could have met Lester and Howard and been at some of their teachings. This book is the next best thing. Catch the fire for God, read the book and step into your gifts and calling!
This is the most incredible book on The Gifts of the Holy Spirit I have ever found. It has changed my life. As a result of reading this book, I have started a book club at my church and we are studying this book. Many wonderful things are happening as we learn the truth of God's promises and invite the Holy Spirit into our own lives.
Truly a good book on the Holy Spirit. Definitely a good read and a guide for those needing to draw closer to God.
There are many things about the gifts to be learned and Minister Sumrall does an awesome job at explaining them all and giving scripture to back it up. I've learned much from this book and encourage anyone who desires to know more and to experience more in their life with regards to the gifts of The Holy Spirit, give this book a read.
