Recommended by my therapist! After a bad car accident I developed a lot of anxiety over driving. I didn't drive for almost 3 years and then I found an amazing Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and this book. It really did help with putting my mind at ease. I'm even driving again!I would not recommend the Kindle version for most people because this is a workbook and it is intended for you to write in it, which you can not do on a kindle.
This is a great workbook for working through anxiety and panic with minimal hand-holding. The only downside is that a lot of the work is tedious and may turn off impatient folks. But if you want results, you need to put in the work. Definitely worth it if you work through it from beginning to end.
If you're reading this, it's very likely you are the one living the struggle. I'll keep it simple; buy this book and go through it with a qualified psychotherapist. You will not regret it; rather, you may look back and see it as the single greatest purchase of your life.This is not a self-help book and you not only need to go through it with a qualified provider (they have a provider version of the book also) but you will need to DO THE EXERSICES; ALL OF THEM.May peace find you - Oneguy
For those who wish to use logic and learning to overcome their anxiety, with or without drugs alongside the program, this book provides concrete, useful techniques for overcoming anxiety and panic.
I am always hesitant on buying books for my anxiety/panic disorder because they usually end up collecting dust on a shelf.This one is very different, I am working with my Dr reading and rereading chapters until it sticks and I wholeheartedly understand it. It really helps to understand the brain and learn to be the observer of your own thoughts.
If your having panic attacks and/or anxiety this is your new anxiety bible. It will help teach you how to handle these experiences and keep them under control or from even happening. It works great, I go back to it whenever I’m over stressed and the anxiety/panic comes back.
My therapist recommended this book to me-Its not a bad book, but it just did not work for me. I read all the reviews and took what people had to say into great consideration before buying. However, I did all the homework and even brought it to my therapist, I just did not get anything from them. For instance, you write out your level of anxiety and triggers each day and what caused them. I did that but for some reason it gave me more anxiety. Maybe because I was going through so much in my life at the time, and seeing how much anxiety I had made it worse. Every person is different, so what works for one individual might not work for someone else. Plus I would rather a cheaper book. I think it was over priced and I will end up giving this book away. I would recommend, "When Panic Attacks" by MD David Burns. It has many ideas about panic attacks and anxiety and I have referred back to the book several times. Overall, I just don't have any use for this book.
If you suffer from panic attacks this book is a MUST have. It helped me tremendously. Super Recommended!!!
